2013- Cascade County, on behalf of MNHG, purchased the property and depot from the Montana Department of Transportation. MDT donated $25,000 to Cascade County, which was then donated to MNHG. This $25,000 is in the form of a grant matching funds;
Apr 2014- Historic Preservation Award from the Great Falls-Cascade County Historic Preservation Advisory Commission for outstanding leadership in the preservation of the area's history and cultural resources;
2016 - $3,000 grant from the Montana History Foundation for depot restoration; $1,000 grant from Northwestern Energy for depot restoration
Also in 2016: Many thanks to the Great Falls Railroad Museum for donating to us the wagon, oil cans and coal bucket.
We are honored to have received this testimonial by the Montana History Foundation in 2016: MNHG has done a great job raising additional funds, working with historic preservation experts to determine what and how work needs to be done, and bringing their community together to accomplish the restoration work.
January - We were off to a good start for the new year when we picked up more donated items from the Great Falls Railroad Museum.
We also cannot thank enough all of the individuals and businesses who have also contributed monies and in-kind donations, and our wonderful volunteers who have saved us literally thousands of dollars by donating their time!
